About This Video

In this video I’m reacting to the way perfume hauls have gotten more and more extreme, and I’m not pretending I’m above it either. I used to enjoy haul content (and I’ve done a few myself), because it’s popular, it gets views, and it scratches that “what’s new?” itch. But with TikTok and Instagram pushing fragrance harder than ever, it’s tipped into overconsumption territory—bottle after bottle, month after month—and it can feel genuinely overwhelming. I watch a few haul clips with you and talk through what’s actually happening behind the scenes: birthday-month spending, declutters and reselling to fund new buys, and the huge role PR plays (sometimes transparently, sometimes not). Seeing luxury PR like Gucci Alchemist Garden being sent out in bulk is a reminder that “exclusive” brands still market hard—just with a shinier wrapper. And I’ll be honest: even watching these hauls can influence me in real time. My biggest takeaway is the same one I keep coming back to: please stop blind buying like it’s a sport. When someone buys 20 fragrances and dislikes a chunk of them, that’s money, time, and product wasted. These days, I’d rather request samples first, stay picky, and keep my integrity than chase the most clickbaity “insane haul” numbers.
