About This Video

In this video I’m talking about one of my all-time favourite notes: rose. I only recently clocked how many rose-based fragrances I actually own, so I pulled together my current top rotation (it’s not my entire rose “arsenal,” because I’ve tried loads of samples too). The whole point here is: not your typical rose. These are the ones that genuinely smell like pure luxury—opulent, sexy, rich, and (mostly) easy to wear. I start with Fleur Humide by J.F. Schwarzlose, which has that perfect “lightness and darkness” balance—peppery, deep, a bit incensy/woody, and then it softens in the dry down in a way that weirdly reminds me of jasmine green tea. Then I get into Ormonde Jayne (because of course): Arabesque for that velvety deeper red rose, and Ta’if—my forever bottle—because it’s the one that truly opened my eyes to bright, airy Taif rose done in a chic, classy way. I also cover darker, gourmand-leaning roses like Tom Ford Noir de Noir (chocolate-rose-wine, period) and Edition Rare Fidèle for a smoky coffee/rose vibe, plus compliment monsters like Ready for Rosé and statement-makers like Cairo and Source (which is genuinely nuclear—go easy).
