About This Video

In this video I’m basically doing a little public service announcement for anyone who’s into perfume (or just getting into it) because I’ve made every money-wasting mistake under the sun. I talk through the biggest ones that cost me cash, time, and honestly a bit of sanity—starting with blind buying. I used to love the adrenaline rush of buying based on notes and hype, but I learned the hard way that you just can’t predict how something will wear on your skin until you actually test it. My Alien Essence Absolute situation still haunts me: medicinal cough-syrup vibes on my skin, and I sold it instead of keeping it. I also get into the stuff people don’t always warn you about—like spraying perfume in your hair. I did it because I saw other creators do it, and it absolutely wrecked my hair (brittle, dry, stringy). Then there’s overspraying in public, which can genuinely choke people out, even with beautiful scents like Amouage Guidance. The big takeaways: learn which notes work on your skin (base notes matter), build a few easy everyday “no-think” scents, and please don’t try to keep up with social media collections. A lot of bottles are gifted, and comparison will have you buying 5–10 bottles a month for instant gratification you don’t even need.
