I talk about how fragrance addiction can show up as obsessive scrolling, constant blind-buy urges, and that sneaky feeling of being pulled toward “the next bottle.” I also share my own experience: I’ve definitely been obsessive and fixated (that’s my personality when I’m into something), but I never let it push me into debt—and that line matters. We get into the dopamine side of it too, including how ADHD hyperfixation and shopping can overlap, and why the anticipation of buying can become the whole day. I also call out the traps: Afterpay/Clearpay/financing apps, the “it’s basically free money” mindset, and how those small payments stack up fast if you’re not budgeting. And then there’s the underrated struggle nobody glamorizes—having a big collection and being so spoiled for choice you don’t even know what to wear, you can’t name a signature scent, and layering turns into a disaster. My takeaway: enjoy fragrance, but clock the red flags early—when it consumes your thoughts, your money, or your peace, it’s time to reel it back and re-prioritize real life.
