I hit the 2026 SLOREX (Salt Lake Off-Road & Outdoor Expo) in Salt Lake City to see what’s new, what’s cool, and what’s actually worth paying attention to in the overland/off-road world. There were a ton of vendors and rigs, so I cherry-picked the stuff that stood out—everything from inflatable pop-up trailer concepts at High Country Unlimited, to Combat Off-Road’s aluminum Jeep taillights for the guys who are tired of smashing stock housings on the trail. On the rig side, there were some absolute wild builds—like a Jeep Wrangler on 49s with a V8 swap that clearly gets used (those skid plates don’t lie), plus a ridiculously clean 1959 Chevy Apache and a well-built 1996 Land Cruiser with impressive articulation. Gear-wise, I stopped by Harker because I’m still running my Harker EXO after two years and I wouldn’t change a thing, and I also checked out their EDC model for folks who want more tailgate space. I also talked GMRS with GME and why I think people underestimate antennas, and I pointed out recovery brands I trust like Yankum Ropes and Factor 55—because you really don’t want to cheap out on recovery gear, and ratings tags matter.
