If you’re planning off-road adventures in 2026, this is the gear you don’t want to leave home without. In this video, I break down all the off-road equipment we take on every trip, organized into four key categories: Recovery, Tires, Safety, and Tools. Whether you’re hitting technical trails, overlanding for the weekend, or tackling remote terrain, this is the gear I personally run and highly recommend to keep you prepared and self-sufficient. This isn’t just a wishlist, it’s real-world tested gear that we rely on every time we hit the trail. Being prepared off-road isn’t optional, and the right setup can be the difference between a quick fix and a long night out on the trails. About This Video

In this video I break down the off-road gear I take on every single adventure, and I’m not talking about a fantasy wishlist—this is the stuff we actually rely on when we’re out on technical trails and way out in the backcountry. I split everything into four categories: Recovery, Tires, Safety, and Tools. Whether you’re new to off-roading or you’ve been doing it for years, there are a few pieces in here that are straight up gamechangers, and a couple that people always overlook until they need them. On the recovery side, I go over my Badlands winch setup and why swapping to a Yankum synthetic line and their fairlead matters—especially because it eliminates the metal hook and reduces the risk of a projectile if something snaps. I also cover tree savers, a pulley for angled pulls or double-line pulls, static vs kinetic straps, and why I’m big on quality soft shackles (buy once, cry once). From there I get into tires—airing down fast with Apex rapid valve stems, airing back up with a dual compressor and a four-way inflator, and the tire repair kit I built after learning lessons the hard way. I wrap it up with safety essentials like first aid, comms (GMRS and even satellite options), a jumper pack, and a fire extinguisher, then the tools I carry to keep myself self-sufficient—including a ground creeper mat that makes trail repairs way less miserable.
