We’re back in the stunning San Juan Mountains of Colorado for another epic overlanding adventure! In Episode 2 of our San Juan adventure series, my parents and brother join us for an unforgettable family trip through the high alpine trails and historic landmarks of the region. We kick things off with Poughkeepsie Gulch as we attempt to conquer “The Wall,” one of the toughest obstacles in the San Juan Mountains. Along the way, the Colorado ZR2 takes some more trail damage. Afterward, we take in the stunning views of Lake Como, then make our way across Hurricane and Corkscrew Pass and unexpectedly run into an old friend on the trail. From scenic views to off-road fun, this adventure has it all. Make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss the next episode! About This Video

Day two in the San Juans kicked off wet—rain all night and the rocks on Poughkeepsie Gulch were slick right out of the gate. The trail climbs through tight forest with creek crossings and waterfalls everywhere, and then you hit the decision point: easy bypass or the right turn to “The Wall.” I came here last year and didn’t make it, so this time I aired the ZR2 down to single digits (8 psi) and went back for redemption with better tires and better conditions. The Wall still did what The Wall does. We got framed up, had to get creative with a carefully placed rock (and yes, we put it back), and I finally clawed my way up—only to rip a fender again. I show the full damage report and the quick trail fix, plus another weak point: the plastic evap/fuel system bracket that took a hit and really needs a proper skid solution. After that, we kept pushing through more obstacles, hit “wall number two,” and made it to that unreal alpine lake above 12,000 feet for lunch and a breather. From there it was Hurricane and Corkscrew Pass views, and we randomly ran into Richard—out of all places—then rolled into camp for night two. I also ran my LasFit dual air compressor to air back up for the highway, and after a few months of testing, it’s become one of my favorite “set it and forget it” pieces of kit.
