If you own a 2023+ Chevy Colorado and plan to take it off-road, this is one upgrade you can’t skip. The factory EVAP system is mounted on a plastic bracket that hangs below the frame, a perfect target for rocks, stumps, and trail obstacles. One solid hit can break the bracket, or worse, rip the EVAP system clean off. In this video, I cover why this is a problem, show you the Level Up Suspension EVAP Skid Plate that solves it, and walk you through just how simple it is to install. About This Video

If you’ve got a 2023+ Chevy Colorado ZR2 and you actually plan to use it off-road, there’s one weak spot you need to address before it becomes a trail problem: the factory EVAP setup. From the factory, the EVAP system is supported by a plastic bracket that hangs below the frame on the driver’s side in front of the fuel tank. That means rocks, stumps, and trail obstacles aren’t hitting your frame first—they’re hitting that plastic bracket. I show you my own factory bracket in this video, and it’s torn up and basically ripped to shreds from the kind of technical trails we run. The issue isn’t just cosmetic. If that EVAP system gets damaged or ripped off, you’re likely looking at a check engine light and potentially limp mode—exactly what you don’t want when you’re out in the middle of nowhere. I walk through the Level Up Suspension EVAP Skid Plate, why it’s the fix that makes sense, and how simple the install is (13mm socket, one bolt, two nuts in the frame, slide the skid between the frame and bracket, add the spacer and supplied longer bolt). It’s a clean, straightforward way to protect the part that’s actually taking hits without dropping $550 on a full fuel tank skid if you don’t need it.
