If you ride with long hair, you already know the struggle: knots, tangles, breakage, and that whole “do I even want to ride if I want to look put together when I get there?” debate. In this video, I finally try the Hightail Hair Protector—because their slogan is literally “great hair when you get there,” and I needed to know if it was legit. I break down what it is (a nylon pocket with an elastic band that mounts to the base of your helmet), what comes in the package, and how the bracket system installs with the included 3M tape, primer, and placement guide/QR install video. I also share what install looks like on my specific setup: I wear a Shoei GT-Air II (lots of curves), and I’ve got a Brake Free on the back plus my Cardo—so my placement ended up being a bit of a custom install. Even with that, the Hightail still worked great and didn’t interfere with my gear.
