I try everything on, talk through comfort, fit, and the CE/abrasion ratings, because most riding gear really isn’t made with women’s bodies in mind. For the hoodie, I show how the D3O Level 1 armor is included separately and what it feels like once it’s in. The big win is comfort—I honestly can’t really feel the armor—but I do call out that my elbow armor moved around a bit, which matters because armor should fit tight so it doesn’t shift if you slide. The hoodie has a AA abrasion rating (AAA is best), a zipper pocket with what looks like a waterproof lining, and it’s pretty heavy—so if you’re cold-natured like me, it’s a solid option for urban commuting. Then we get to the moment I’ve been waiting for: the Bia high-waisted jeans. They’re super stretchy, the armor was easy to insert, and the fit is actually perfect—no annoying back gap like I’ve had with other riding jeans.
