SAM.Gov is the foundational tool for government contracting. When you learn how to use SAM.Gov, you will win more contracts. In today's training, I will share my framework for small businesses so you can transform how you use SAM.gov and go from a reactive bulletin board into a powerful Acquisition Intelligence Platform. In this training, you'll learn: • How to find qualified opportunities in SAM.Gov • What information is in each opportunity and how it can help you • How to set up SAM.Gov to never miss an opportunity What to Remember:: 1. Stop Chasing Dead-End Bids | 06:29 Look Earlier: Don't wait for the final Request for Proposal (RFP). Search for Sources Sought and RFIs (market research). This is your chance to talk to the government before they set the rules. Look Backwards: 07:07 Study Awarded Contracts. Find out who won what you wanted (your competitors) and what agencies are consistently buying that service. This is how you find new buyers. 07:49 2. Set Up Smart Monitoring 03:42 Ditch Email Alerts: They get ignored. Always use Saved Searches inside SAM.gov. Check for Daily Updates: 28:17 Commit 15-30 minutes every day to check your Saved Searches. This is the single most important habit. It keeps you ahead of 90% of your competition. 3. Collect Key Buyer Data. 09:19 Find Your People: Track the names of the Contracting Officer (the money person) and the Program Office lead (the user). You need both. Watch Competitors: When you find an old contract, grab the winner's information (their UEI). Use this to find more agencies they've sold to—which are agencies you should target. Use the Codes: Note every NAICS and PSC code the government uses for your services. Use their codes in your proposals. 4. Speak Their Language. 10:51 Match Their Words: The government describes your work in a specific way (in the Statement of Work or PWS). Take their documents and use those exact terms to describe your services. Don't use any jargon. You need to sound like the government, not your marketing team. This is key to winning government contracts. ___________________________________ 🔥 Join 26,811 others and subscribe to our GovCon newsletter | https://lnkd.in/es6qfwgk 👀 Follow me (Neil McDonnell) on LinkedIn™ and hit the 🔔 on my profile to see more government contracting content like 41,990 other people do.
