Good morning you guys—today I’m taking you through a productive 8am(ish) morning in my life that’s actually realistic. It’s not a 5am “that girl” routine because I’ve been staying up way too late reading (oops), and Canadian mornings have been dark, cold, and slightly miserable. But I still have a busy workday ahead (filming, meetings, Pilates later), so I’m leaning on my non-negotiables: a quick yoga flow from my 8-week beginner course, a little journaling with my 5-minute journal for gratitude + intentions, and then getting in movement before my day takes over. For training, I do a super chill shakeout run outside with Cooper (who is not a runner, okay). I’m also low-key in half marathon prep mode because I may or may not have signed up for my first race in three weeks, so consistency is the goal. After the run, I stretch (hamstrings/hip flexors are screaming after soccer), talk through why yoga + Pilates have helped my recovery and longer distances, and share what I’m still figuring out—like finding my Spy belt and testing gels before race day because my stomach is sensitive. Then I reset for work-from-home life (getting ready matters for my productivity) and make my holy grail high-protein breakfast: cottage cheese avocado toast with pickled onions + honey, plus a Costco feta & spinach chicken sausage to hit 30g+ protein. Simple habits, big payoff.
