In this video I’m digging into a new White Dwarf that, honestly, is one of the better ones in recent memory—because it drops official rules for a Tzeentch Army of Renown that mixes Disciples of Tzeentch with a chunk of Cities of Sigmar units. We’re talking custom warscroll tweaks, battle traits, heroic traits, artifacts, and a whole “Pyrofane Cult” identity that’s super narrative: cults hidden inside Order settlements, soldiers turning traitor, and the city basically getting eaten alive by warpflame. The core mechanic is setting the table on fire. With Weirdflame Barrage, your Pyrofane shooting can target terrain features (yes, plural) to try and give them the Wildpyre keyword, and Carrick Acolytes can also light contested objectives on fire permanently. Then you’ve got Immolation of the Realms once per battle round: the more Wildpyres you’ve created, the more mortal damage you splash around—and the more buffs your own units get if they took that damage (movement, +1 to wound, extra attacks, and the whole stack at higher thresholds). It’s risky because your bodies are squishy, but the payoff can get spicy. I also cover the “hidden among the cultists” wizard deployment trick (including showing up in combat and even in your opponent’s hero phase with free Magical Intervention), plus the Weirdflame spell lore and the point-costed Pyrofane Cities units like Steelhelms, Fusiliers, and the Great Cannon. I don’t think this is a tournament-ready thing (it’s probably effectively Legends), but it looks extremely fun—and I’m tempted to proxy it for a narrative game and do a battle report.
