About This Video

Picking an army in Age of Sigmar can be a headache, but in this video I break down why Lumineth Realm-Lords are getting one of the biggest rule shakeups we’ve seen in 4th edition with the new 2026 battletome. I’m not trying to “call” the power level here—Lumineth have historically been strong, but with rules changing this hard, it’s going to take real table time to know where they land. What I do cover is what it actually feels like to play the faction: whether you want the classic Vanari spear-and-bow elf battleline with elite infantry and cavalry, or you want to lean into wizards, multiple casts, and big elemental spirits. The core of the book is the new rune system: each battle round you pick a rune, buff units, and scale those buffs the more you repeat the same rune—plus you unlock secondary effects based on what you inscribed earlier. I also go over the four battle formations (double-fight style combat tempo, monster durability, power-through utility, and the “unlimited spells” caster build), then walk through the model range—named characters like Teclis, Sevireth, Avalenor, and the Light of Eltharion, plus key units like Wardens, Sentinels, Bladelords, Dawnriders, Stoneguard, and the Spirits. I finish with practical hobby and buying talk: Lumineth are tough for beginners to paint (white armor and trim are no joke), and the army tends to be pricey in points so you’re often playing more elite than horde—even if you can still go mass infantry if you really want to.
