About This Video

In this Twin Tailed Podcast episode, I’m catching up with Jack (Twin Cydia) after a bit of a break and we run through what we’ve been hobbying on, what’s happening in the Age of Sigmar release cycle, and then we dig into the big one: my early testing with the new Lumineth battletome. Jack’s been grinding paint time (finished 31 Old World Orc Boyz he’s proxying as Ardboyz) and he’s jumped into Nighthaunt with a Soul Wars box—plus a very Canadian “good deal” on Lady Olynder. We also chat about contrast paints: I’m still a fan, but I’m with Jack that they’re not automatically easier for brand-new painters unless you actually learn how to use them. On the game side, we touch the meta bet we made (drafting factions and averaging win rates), where Cities of Sigmar is absolutely nuking my chances right now. Then we hit quick takes on Tzeentch, OBR, and the newly announced Sylvaneth stuff. After that, I break down my Lumineth test games (including some self-tests on TTS) and what I’m learning: runes are powerful but you only get one active at a time, defensive tech like Mountain (5+ ward) and River into Mountain feels incredible, and the army’s damage can be swingy—especially when the cow decides it’s allergic to hitting on 2s and 3s. I also talk honestly about what’s felt harder compared to the old book, and why planning your rune coverage matters more than people think.
