About This Video

Age of Sigmar has a ton of factions, and picking one can be brutal—so in my “Should You Play” series I’m breaking them all down. In this video I cover Soulblight Gravelords, and if you’re watching near release, it’s an especially good time to jump in because they’re about to get a brand new battletome army set. I go over what the faction is all about (vampires, skeletons, zombies, direwolves, bats), why the hero roster is such a big draw, and what the core gameplay loop feels like on the table. From a playstyle standpoint, Soulblight is recursion and healing: you’re raising dead units back up, healing vampires by fighting, and generally grinding people down over time. I also explain the Cursed Sepulchres terrain and why it matters—deploying units off-board, popping up around the table for objectives and tactics, and even extending the range of certain manifestation spells by measuring from the terrain instead of your wizard. I wrap it up with what the model range looks like, how hard the army is to paint, whether it’s elite or horde (spoiler: you’re painting a lot of bodies), what it may cost to get started, and the “average” stat expectations for vampires, skeletons, and deadwalkers so you know what you’re signing up for.
