About This Video

Age of Sigmar has a ton of factions, and picking “the one” is honestly hard—so in this series I’m breaking down each army to answer the question: should you play it? In this video I’m talking Blades of Khorne, and it’s a great moment to look at them because they just got a brand new battletome plus a new Deathbringer hero. The big headline is the army is shifting to feel more like the lore: you want to get stuck in, spill blood, and as units die (yours or theirs) you ramp up harder and harder. I go over how the new Blood Tithe works now—less “one-off gotcha tech,” more like an RPG skill tree where you unlock permanent buffs as the game progresses. Then there’s the Blood-drenched power-up once about half the units on the table are dead: your offense spikes (extra rend/damage tech), but you lose the ability to buff saves going forward. I also cover the new battle formations, why mixing mortals and daemons seems more supported than before, and what the model range looks like (18 heroes, 11 units), including standouts like Scarbrand, Bloodthirsters, Blood Warriors, Flesh Hounds, and the new Deathbringer with real anti-command and anti-manifestation utility. Finally, I talk hobby difficulty (trim, skin, and “messy gore looks good”), elite vs horde build options, and what buying into Khorne can realistically cost—plus which boxes I think are actually good value right now.
