There are times in everyone’s life where their willpower gets tested… and this week, mine is absolutely getting tested by the Helsmiths of Hashut Army Set. In this video I break down what’s actually in the box (hero, spear-dwarves, the big dominator engine, and the tormentor bombard cannon), and why I’m feeling both hyped and conflicted. The big “win” for me is that this army set is also a Spearhead, which is honestly really smart—too many past army sets didn’t let you play Spearhead right away, and that always felt like a miss. But yeah, it also looks a bit skimpy for an “army set,” especially when I’m expecting a higher price point (in Canada I’m guessing around $240 CAD versus a typical Spearhead around $175 CAD). You do get the battletome, warscroll cards, and transfers—so it’s still a deal compared to buying separately—but we don’t have points or full rules yet, and that makes judging the value tricky. I talk through how I think the Spearhead might play (elite, forgiving, with a fun artillery piece), why the lore/art in battletomes matters more to me than it does for some players, and whether I’ll actually buy it—or just scratch the “elite Spearhead” itch another way.
