About This Video

Last week we got brand new lore for the Helsmiths of Hashut (aka Chaos Dwarfs), and in this video I break down everything Games Workshop actually told us so you can be properly psyched for the pre-order. I start with the Chaos Dwarf “myth” that was supposedly recorded by a Firebinder on a stone tablet right before he got turned fully to stone—classic. In that story, Hashut is framed as an ancestor god wronged by his sibling gods, pushed into Ghur, and then “forced” into binding daemons and powering industry with their spirits. It’s a very flattering version of events for the Zharrdron… which is exactly why I’m skeptical. Then I move into the second lore drop: what Zharrdron society looks like and why it’s basically a perfectionist machine of greed, debt, and domination. I cover how their oaths work (chains of obligation instead of honorable duardin tradition), how they trade (including with Slaves to Darkness), and the four ziggurats/subfaction inspirations—right down to the color schemes. Finally, I talk about how they actually use magic: duardin resistance plus an ancient text from Hashut teaching daemon-binding, the risks of failure, and the slow curse of turning into stone. The big takeaway is that they treat Chaos like a tool—and they genuinely think they’re immune to it.
