About This Video

It’s been a bit since my last upload, but I’m genuinely pumped to be back because we’ve got new Cities of Sigmar rules to dig into—specifically the Scourge of Ghyran buffs and what they actually mean on the table. I walk through the two new battle formations first: Veteran Cannoneers (which feels like it was written to personally mock everyone who’s ever whiffed with a cannon… including me) and Fearless Exemplars for an extra order-style payoff that can hand out rend to a human infantry unit and a war machine. I also talk about how these stack up against the “default” Cities picks we’ve been leaning on. Then I get into the new heroic traits, and this is where things start to open up for non-shooting builds. Draw Steel has a really obvious combo with Strike Them Down, Astute Tactician is basically a mobility tool that I immediately want to try on dwarves, and Cosmopolitan Leader has some legit upside—especially the human +1 to wound angle for units that normally struggle to convert damage. Finally, I cover the warscroll updates: Pontifex Zenestra is FINALLY worth taking in my opinion, with a much better prayer (casting on a 4) and real playmaking into manifestations and enemy casters. Freeguild Cavaliers also got a huge quality-of-life boost with 3+ to hit and a way to “count as charged” while already in combat, which fixes the biggest issue they had once the initial impact turn was over.
