About This Video

In this Age of Sigmar battle report, I’m talking through my Cities of Sigmar game into Sylvaneth—my first time ever playing against Sylvaneth, and also my first match on Tabletop Simulator. We played the Passing Seasons battleplan (the first one in the new GHB), and honestly it’s sneakily challenging: only four objectives, and which ones score flips each round. That forced a lot of movement and flexibility, and it also meant we ended up scoring pretty evenly early because neither of us was running away with battle tactics. From the Cities side, I’m running the list I’ve been testing lately (20 Cavaliers, Command Corps, Zenestra, a cannon, etc.), and the big takeaway for me was deployment and point efficiency. I committed a Cavalier block plus the Cavalier-Marshal to the flank, and afterwards we talked about how that’s a ton of points that can take a full turn just to re-enter the real fight. Once the game got scrappy, my opponent did a great job picking matchups with strike-and-fade pressure, and I didn’t get to dictate combats the way I wanted. I also learned a lot about target priority (especially around Belthanos), and I was pleasantly surprised by how much work the cannon did—Fearless Exemplars extra rend felt less “win-more” and more “consistency.” Finally, I wrap with my thoughts on Tabletop Simulator: it’s way easier and nicer-looking than I expected, and it genuinely speeds up measuring, dice, and playing people worldwide.
