About This Video

8 months of ownership, 2 long mountain trips (Sandakphu + North Sikkim) and 8000+ km later, this is my complete long-term honest review of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. I start with the bad parts first because I don’t want to keep your doubts for the end. Biggest issues for me: the weight (198 kg stock, and it only goes up with accessories), the stock side stand feel, expensive spare parts (my brake pads alone went 5000+ because of the ByBre sintered ceramic setup), the stock seat comfort, and the stock headlight which is not powerful enough—so fog lamps become almost necessary. I also talk about first-lot issues I faced and how RE handled them. In my case, the company replaced parts without asking questions—like the handlebar riser rubber dampers (twice), and even a major brake-related replacement from master cylinder to front caliper when I reported it. On the good side: the suspension is genuinely very good for the price (Showa front + rear monoshock), the 50/50 tyres have solid grip on highway and bad roads, and compared to my old 411, this bike needs less effort—gear shifts, braking, and long rides feel easier (especially if you add a touring seat). Finally, I break down the accessories I’ve installed (keeping it purpose-only to avoid making the bike overweight), and I share a real warning: one aftermarket accessory caused a chassis thread issue and my warranty got voided for that area. I also compare the Himalayan 450 with KTM 390 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and XPulse, and I end with one important touring rule—always think about spare parts availability and workshop support wherever you’re going.
