About This Video

In this video I’m basically answering the question I keep getting: why I picked up a Fujifilm X-T5, and why I traded my Fujifilm GFX 50S II to do it. The short version is I’m shooting less film in 2025—not because I’m “done” with film, but because I want to savor it and be way more intentional. Film is only getting more expensive, and I found myself grabbing my Leica M2 for everyday stuff because I love it… but that adds up fast when every casual day turns into another roll. I talk through the trade (GFX for the X-T5 plus a lens, backpack, and flash), and why I’m fine giving up the GFX even though I genuinely love that sensor. Most of my work lives online anyway, and I realized I’m basically the only person who’s going to notice the difference in image quality—so I’d rather have a camera I actually want to carry daily. I also ramble a bit about my 2025 setup: Pentax 67 (currently in repair thanks to a cat incident) for portraits/landscapes and slide film, the M2 for trips, and the X-T5 as my daily driver for everyday and even paid work unless it’s a film-first creative shoot.
