While the Lomo'Instant Wide Glass isn't a perfect camera, it's quickly become one of my favorite cameras I've used in recent memory. Back in December I made a review about it and my only real complaint was the viewfinder placement. In my opinion it sits too far from the lens and causes inaccurate compositions. I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a solution. - Buy the bracket here!: https://www.michaelbennettphoto.com/shop Lomo'Instant Wide Glass Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZp7k04by4k&t=6s - My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/michaelbennettphoto/ My Website: https://www.michaelbennettphoto.com My Email: OfficialMichaelBennett@gmail.com - Gear I used in this video: Nikon ZF: https://amzn.to/48z057z DJI Osmo Pocket 3: https://amzn.to/43fdOxe Live AIR 3 Smart PD-BTMP-S: https://amzn.to/4hrUUId Epson V600: https://amzn.to/4kPzXcw Gitzo Tripod: https://amzn.to/4hJEawH Viltrox Monitor: https://amzn.to/3YXfWaR Aputure 120DII: https://amzn.to/4dVrLTt ZHIYUN CINEPEER CX100: https://amzn.to/3Xgr1D1 Zhiyun M20C RGB Light: https://amzn.to/4hpszSY Hollyland Lark M2: https://amzn.to/3WW5K11 Freewell V2 Magnetic VND & Snow Mist 1/4: https://amzn.to/4hRUc7b NiSi JetMag Pro Filter Kit: https://amzn.to/4guToUx - - - - - - - Lomography, Lomo'instant wide glass, Instant wide film camera, fujifilm instax film camera, instax mini, instax square, instax wide film, lomography instax instant film camera

About This Video

In this video I’m talking about the Lomo’Instant Wide Glass—specifically the one big thing that bugged me even though I genuinely love this camera. The viewfinder sits a little too far from the lens, and in my opinion that turns composing into a guessing game. I was getting inaccurate compositions (and it just wasn’t as fun to shoot), so I decided to stop complaining and actually fix it. I walk through my first “solution” (a cold shoe + external viewfinder mounted to the bottom), why it was super goofy in real-world use, and why it made the camera annoying to set down or pack. Then I show the bracket I designed that mounts to the camera’s strap lugs and puts a cold shoe up top—more in line with the stock lens—without blocking the film ejection. It snaps on and off easily, keeps the camera’s footprint basically the same when removed, and it immediately gave me more accurate framing (my first test shots were of my cat, perfectly centered). I also explain the two ways to buy it: as an STL file if you have a 3D printer, or as a printed physical product from my site (viewfinder not included).
