Have you heard about Kodak Aerocolor III? It's an aerial film produced by Kodak that I personally hadn't heard about before I purchased some rolls to test out. In this video I talk about the film, show examples of the photos I shot, and give me honest feedback about the results. - Aerocolor III Data Sheet: https://dn721601.ca.archive.org/0/items/manualsonline-id-5052cfa9-33bc-4c5e-91b8-07160812c959/5052cfa9-33bc-4c5e-91b8-07160812c959.pdf Aerocolor IV Data Sheet: https://www.kodak.com/content/pdfs/KODAK-AEROCOLOR-III-Negative-Film-2460-datasheet-en.pdf - My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/michaelbennettphoto/ My Website: https://www.michaelbennettphoto.com My Email: OfficialMichaelBennett@gmail.com - Powergrade: https://www.michaelbennettphoto.com/shop/p/davinci-resolve-film-powergrade - Gear I used in this video: Fujifilm X100VI: https://amzn.to/4l9mQmC Panasonic LUMIX S9: https://amzn.to/41F3zlD Live AIR 3 Smart PD-BTMP-S: https://amzn.to/4hrUUId Epson V600: https://amzn.to/4kPzXcw Gitzo Tripod: https://amzn.to/4hJEawH Viltrox Monitor: https://amzn.to/3YXfWaR Aputure 120DII: https://amzn.to/4dVrLTt ZHIYUN CINEPEER CX100: https://amzn.to/3Xgr1D1 Zhiyun M20C RGB Light: https://amzn.to/4hpszSY Hollyland Lark M2: https://amzn.to/3WW5K11 Freewell V2 Magnetic VND & Snow Mist 1/4: https://amzn.to/4hRUc7b NiSi JetMag Pro Filter Kit: https://amzn.to/4guToUx - Pentax 6x7, Pentax 67, Pentax 67ii, Pentax 105mm f/2.4 45mm f/4, Kodak aerocolor III aerocolor iv santacolor santa color 100, reflx lab pro 100 reflex lab pro 100, film dong dong, electra 100, what is kodak aerocolor III

About This Video

I was scrolling Amazon looking for film and stumbled on something I genuinely hadn’t heard of before: Kodak Aerocolor III, respooled and sold by Film Dongdong. In this video I break down what Kodak’s own datasheet says about it—medium-speed, very fine grain, wide latitude—and then translate the “aerial film” language into what it means for normal shooting. I also talk about processing: it’s designed for Kodak’s AN-6 process, but it can be developed in C-41, which is what most of us are actually going to do. From there, I get into the part everyone cares about: the look. Aerocolor III doesn’t have the typical orange mask you see on most color negative film (like Gold 200), and I’ll be honest—I couldn’t find a clear answer as to why, so I share my best guess from the datasheet and keep it labeled as speculation. I shot two rolls of 120 through my Pentax 67 with the 105mm f/2.4 in different scenes and lighting, scanned at home on my Panasonic Lumix S9, and converted in Lightroom with Negative Lab Pro with minimal adjustments. My takeaway: the film feels grungy but neutral—bleak in a good way—with slightly green, crunched shadows and magenta-leaning highlights, and it doesn’t really resemble anything else I’ve shot.
