About This Video

In this video I’m giving you a real update on where the channel is headed going into 2025—both in terms of how I’m going to make videos and the gear I’ll be using to do it. The big change is I want to upload less frequently and put more time into each project: better ideas, better scripting, and just generally better filming and editing. At the same time, I’m finally going to stop avoiding social media and start posting more (posts and reels), plus actually get out and shoot more—because I have a ton of cameras and I want them in my hands, not sitting on a shelf. Gear-wise, I run through my current lighting and camera setup and what’s working (and what isn’t). I’ve been loving the Panasonic LUMIX S9 as an easier, more YouTube-friendly camera, and I’m keeping my Leica M2 because I just couldn’t bring myself to sell it—especially after picking up Canon LTM 28mm f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.8 lenses (that 50mm is the one I’m genuinely excited about). I also talk about my film scanning setup with the Fujifilm GFX 50S II and Tokina 100mm macro, a Fringer adapter experiment that didn’t pan out, and my return to the Pentax 67—plus the plan for a 105mm f/2.4 and even a cheap UV heat lamp trick to help with lens yellowing.
