About This Video

Back in 2023, I lost two rolls of Fujifilm Superia 400, and it genuinely bummed me out—mostly because Superia 400 is a film stock that’s never coming back. The funny part is I used to hate on it. When I first started shooting film, it was basically the only stock I could buy locally, and I kept getting results I didn’t like. But looking back, that wasn’t Superia’s fault—I didn’t know how to expose film properly, I was using cameras with sketchy meters, my developing was subpar, and I had zero clue how to scan and convert negatives. Fast forward to August 2024: I found one last roll in my film fridge, brought it on a family trip to Colorado, and it completely flipped my opinion. Even water-damaged, it performed insanely well—vibrant colors, fine grain, and a look I honestly haven’t seen replicated by other stocks. Then I found those two “lost” rolls, got them developed at a lab, and scanned/converted them at home with my current process. The photos are from a day trip to Philly (Longwood Gardens + finishing the roll back in Texas) and an overnight camping trip to the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma. If anything, this video is a reminder that your process matters—and it’s a real shame Fujifilm is walking away from their film legacy.
