About This Video

Hey friends! In this video I’m sharing our weekly grocery haul from Real Canadian Superstore, plus the simple meal plan I’m using for our family this week. I spent $270, which is a little bit under our weekly budget, and it was honestly such a good order—good sales, and no substitutions or unavailable items (love when that happens). I’ll walk you through what I picked up, like milk on sale, eggs, fruit, red potatoes (we really enjoy red potatoes even though they’re a bit pricier), and a few “Naturally Imperfect” cucumbers to save a little. I also share some of the staples that make large family life run smoother—cheese on sale so I can stock up a bit, Greek yogurt, cream, oats for granola and the protein balls I’ve been wanting to make, plus canned tomatoes and tomato sauce for pizza and soup. Beef was on sale for $6 a pound, so I grabbed a sirloin tip roast and stewing beef for the freezer, and I explain why boneless meat can be a better value than it looks. Then I show my meal plan for the week (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), with realistic flexibility—Instant Pot chicken legs and rice, sourdough with tuna and raw veggies, a chicken stock soup with sweet potatoes, black beans, quinoa, and diced tomatoes, beef stew with peas, pork chops with roasted potatoes, and leftovers to finish out the week.
