About This Video

Hey friends! In this video I’m sharing our last grocery haul for February from Real Canadian Superstore, plus our meal plan for the week. I spent $300 and I’ll pop in the total we spent for the whole month too—our grocery budget this year is $1,250 a month, and I was really happy that we stayed under budget for February. Lately Superstore’s sales have just been better than Walmart for us (even though pickup is $1 there), and when the deals are good, it really adds up for a family of seven. I’ll walk you through what I grabbed—lots of meat for the freezer (ground beef and boneless skinless chicken thighs), pantry basics like diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, peanut butter, oats, and smoked paprika, plus produce like cucumbers, tomatoes, bananas, carrots, peppers, and a big stock-up on apples. One of my favorite perks at Superstore is the freebie when you spend $300, and this week it was two packs of bacon—perfect timing because I had a potatoes, bacon, and cheese slow cooker meal I couldn’t make last week when I realized we were out. For the meal plan, I’m keeping it realistic and simple: soup with homemade chicken stock, chili (love leftovers for lunch), baked potatoes with pork chops, macaroni and cheese with meat, and chicken fried rice. And since we’re heading to Florida soon, I’m also thinking ahead about using up what we have so we don’t waste food before we leave.
