About This Video

Good morning, friends! In this video I’m sharing a Real Canadian Superstore grocery haul and our meal plan for the week after getting home from vacation to a pretty much empty fridge. I placed the order online the night before, did a pickup, and spent $185—mostly basics and pantry staples. I didn’t buy any meat this time because nothing was on sale, and we’re able to do that because we keep our freezers stocked when meat is discounted (chicken, beef, pork, whole chickens, the works). That’s honestly where a lot of the savings come from for a big family. I’ll walk you through what I bought—milk (on sale), eggs, flour for sourdough baking, Greek yogurt, oats, applesauce, beans, and produce that made sense price-wise. Some things were just wild (lettuce and broccoli were so expensive), so I pivoted to raw veggies plus frozen green beans and mixed veg instead. I also share how I plan meals around what we already have, including roast leftovers, chicken for multiple dinners, sourdough waffles for the freezer, and a simple plan for busy homeschool days—because groceries in the middle of a Tuesday school day is not my favorite, but sometimes you just do what you have to do.
