This week we went to Real Canadian Superstore for our grocery trip. I got a little chatty showing everything, so sorry about how long and drawn out this is! There were lots of good sales, especially on meat (yay!) and so we stocked up. I'll show you what we bought and how much we spent on groceries for the month of January. Did we stay on budget? I'll also share what's on our meal plan this week. Hi friends, and welcome to my channel! My name is Julie. About This Video

Good morning, friends! In this video I’m sharing our Real Canadian Superstore grocery haul and our meal plan for the week, along with a peek at how January spending is going as we work with our 2026 grocery budget of $1,250/month. After using points to take $20 off, this trip came to $312, and I was honestly so happy because there were finally some great meat sales—especially on beef. I stocked up on 20 one-pound packs of medium ground beef (I love the smaller packages for freezer space and flexible meal portions) and grabbed four cases of chicken drumsticks at $3/lb. Because we have a birthday coming up, I also picked up a few “special day” foods like hash browns (a first for me!), Cavendish fries, nuggets, tortillas for chicken quesadillas, and lots of apples for an apple crisp instead of cake. I also share what we’re eating this week: taco salad/taco bar for guests (I definitely need sour cream for that), chili, baked oatmeal, sourdough cinnamon raisin bread with cream cheese, naan bread pizzas, and a slow cooker “loaded baked potato” style dinner with bacon, cheese, onions, and sour cream. It’s realistic large-family planning—using what we have, stocking up when prices are good, and keeping meals simple enough to fit homeschool life.
