About This Video

In today’s full day of food, I’m sharing what I actually fed our family of seven—from breakfast all the way to my evening snack. I started my morning with oatmeal topped with blueberries, and I mixed in whey protein isolate (it’s not sweetened, so I add a little maple syrup). I also love cottage cheese in my oats for extra protein, and of course I had coffee in my mug while I sat down to supervise math—because if you’re homeschooling, you know the giggling and wiggling doesn’t stop just because you poured coffee. For lunch, we sliced into a fresh loaf of sourdough (we bake bread multiple times a week, so the kids are a little spoiled). Since it was fresh, we didn’t toast it—just peanut butter with honey (and jam for anyone who wanted it), plus apple slices and fried eggs. Later, after a quick workout, I had a protein shake and a mandarin orange (fruit disappears so fast around here). Dinner was a super simple pasta night: sautéed onions and garlic, 2 pounds of ground beef, and a jar of my neighbor’s homemade tomato sauce mixed right in with elbow macaroni—our favorite—served with green beans. After dinner: one more coffee and a bowl of kettle corn to end the day.
