About This Video

We left winter in Ontario behind and did the full two-day drive down to Florida for spring break, and you guys… it felt amazing to step into summer just like that. I vlogged little bits and pieces of our week—Everglades National Park (our one wish was to see alligators, and we saw so many!), then we decided if we’re going to do Florida, we’re doing the whole kitten caboodle and drove the Overseas Highway all the way down to Key West. Between traffic, a few surprises along the way, and even chickens wandering around downtown, it was such a memorable day. We also fit in spring training vibes at a Blue Jays game (it was so hot), a must-stop at Hobby Lobby, and lots of beach time on the Gulf side—white sand, beautiful water, and all the beach treasures. I was hunting for a whole sand dollar and a sweet little girl handed one to Wesley as she was leaving, and honestly, it made my day. And because this is real life with five kids, we had a mix of eating out (Wendy’s one night, Cracker Barrel another) and cooking simple meals at the condo—chicken thighs, rice on the stove (I’m so used to my Instant Pot!), and a salad kit for an easy veggie. I also shared the practical side of traveling with a big family: sunscreen (we tried!), pool days for a slower pace, planning food for the two-day drive home, and even my Dunkin butter pecan iced coffee order. And then… back to winter at the end, sandals swapped for running shoes, and yes, I complained a little because yuck.
