Good morning, friends! In this full day of food for our family of seven, I’m taking you along as I make simple, homemade meals that actually work for real large family life. I share what the kids had for breakfast (a big pot of oatmeal with frozen blueberries), and then what I make for myself after my morning workout. I really do prioritize protein at each meal, so I show exactly how I add whey protein isolate and cottage cheese to my oats, plus maple syrup and a splash of milk. I also share what supplements I’m taking right now (and why), and the maple-flavoured coffee we’re drinking—because yes, I sip coffee slowly and my Yeti keeps it hot for hours. For lunch, I slice up a cinnamon raisin sourdough loaf that turned out so nice and round, and we keep it easy with different topping options (cream cheese, peanut butter, honey), plus boiled eggs and apple slices. Later, I prep dinner by seasoning chicken drumsticks with a quick spice rub and cooking them in the Instant Pot with a rack and a little water. Supper is those drumsticks with Instant Pot baked potatoes (sour cream and cheese) and carrot sticks, and I wrap up with a little Valentine’s treat—Brookside blood orange and peach chocolates.
