About This Video

In this video I’m finally knocking out a mod I bought for my 4th gen Highlander basically right when we got it… and then forgot about it until I was cleaning the garage. I’m swapping the factory side mirror turn signal lenses for smoked sequential LED units, so instead of that basic “flash,” you get that clean running/sequential effect like you see on some Audi and BMW stuff. It’s one of those small upgrades that makes the whole SUV look more high-end, and it also helps with visibility. I walk you through the install step-by-step: popping the mirror cap off (it’s on there solid), unclipping the mirror so you can access the four T10 Torx screws, releasing the light, and plugging the new one in. I also show you a super important tip—these LEDs have polarity. If you test your hazards and one side doesn’t work, you literally just unplug it, flip the connector around, and plug it back in before you button everything up. Once it’s installed, the smoked look is way cleaner than the stock chrome in my opinion, and it matches the other Car Trim Home lighting upgrades I’ve done on the Highlander.
