About This Video

What’s up, guys — in this video I’m working on one of the most annoying interior problems on the Corvette C7: that factory center console lid/armrest leather coming unstuck and bubbling up. I don’t know if it’s the adhesive GM used or just your arm moving back and forth all the time, but it’s super common. It makes the interior look wrinkly and cheap, and it’s especially annoying when you’re driving or when people are looking through the windows at a show. I show you a quick, budget-friendly fix using the Kustom Interiors Center Console Lid Armrest Cover. It’s a tight cover that slips over the factory lid, adds a little more padding for your elbow, and gives you a cleaner look (plus I like that it adds an extra stitch line compared to the factory single stitch). Install is very quick and easy, but you do want to start at the top and work your way back — I recommend hitting the passenger side first since it’s harder to reach around the hinge. Once it’s snapped on, you can adjust it to line up the stitching, and any shipping wrinkles should relax as it heats up and settles in.
