In part three of my budget detailing setup, I’m finally showing you guys the main thing everybody keeps asking me about: what I’m using for a spot-free rinse. I’m running a budget-friendly deionized water system off Amazon (Aquatic Life), and honestly I’ve been really happy with it. I was also looking at the Adam’s Polish portable system, so I’ll link both in case you’d rather go with the nicer setup. What I like about this Aquatic Life unit is how the canisters work—you can either replace the whole canister or just refill the resin beads yourself. Refilling the beads is way cheaper, and it’s easy to tell when it’s time because the blue beads turn brown. I also recommend grabbing a TDS/hardness meter (mine’s from Amazon) so you can test your water before and after the system. I tested mine and it dropped to zero particles per million, and I even sprayed a black car in the middle of the day in the heat with zero water spots. Part four is coming next, and I’ll show you how I mounted everything on the wall and got the whole setup looking super clean in the garage.
