About This Video

In this video I review the ZiiGaat × Fresh Reviews Arete 2 (Arete II), and I start from the unboxing and accessories. The packaging is pretty typical Linsoul, but the included stuff is solid: a genuinely nice quality case, modular cable with swappable plugs, multiple tip sets (clear silicone, dark silicone, and foam), plus spare filters. The shells are metal but surprisingly lightweight, and because the body is comfy and has a deep fit, it’s easy to wear for long sessions—especially if you’re gaming. For sound, my setup was stock dark silicone tips with the Violectric QX13, and I also tried it straight from my Infinix phone (Apple Music + YouTube Music). My first impression is it’s kinda like the Juzear Harrier, but with more treble extension—though I can hear some BA timbre. Tonality is Harman-ish with a shaved upper-midrange, so vocals don’t get shouty and it’s very easy to listen to. The dip switch adds a bit of bass, but I prefer it OFF because ON makes it too warm/bassy due to the tuning focus shifting toward bass + treble. Technically, for $279 the Arete 2 is strong: small-to-medium stage, excellent layering, holographic imaging, and spectacular separation/positioning. If you want one IEM for long listening plus competitive gaming, this one makes a lot of sense—my only real nitpick is I wish the timbre was a bit more natural.
