December 15th was my birthday, and I wanted to do something a little unhinged (in a good way): I recorded, mixed, and mastered my cover of「アクト (ACT)」feat. Daoko in one sitting. Total time was about 5 hours from start to finish. This video is the result—my vocal take, my mix decisions, and my final master, all done in a single session without dragging it out across multiple days. The song itself has that tense, surreal energy, and I leaned into it—keeping the vocal up front, letting the phrasing breathe, and pushing the track so it still feels lively and “sparkly” without turning into a harsh mess. I’m an audio reviewer, but I’m also a mix/mastering engineer, so this is me applying the same “honest takes” mindset to music: commit to choices, keep it musical, and don’t hide behind over-processing.
