About This Video

In this video I review the FIIO x SnowSky DISC DAP, and yeah—this thing feels fancy to hold. It genuinely gives me that “collector’s item” vibe, and it threw me back to my old CD player days. I go through the unboxing (USB‑C to USB‑A cable, quick start guide, and the forbidden snacks), then I show the hardware: the circular IPS touchscreen display (super smooth and fluid), the buttons (power, play/pause, and the volume/track control), plus the ports (4.4 balanced, 3.5 single‑ended, USB‑C, and microSD). I also cover the main specs and features: dual CS43131, Ingenic X2000, 125mW @32Ω single‑ended and 280mW @32Ω balanced. Feature-wise it’s very “modern retro”: CD-player styling, AirPlay over Wi‑Fi, EQ, USB DAC mode, USB audio, and storage mode. The UI is simple and that spinning “album cover” animation is just pleasing to look at. Sound-wise, out of the box it’s a neutral, slightly musical/sightly fun CS43131-type tuning: bouncy round bass, mids that aren’t thin or thick, and a smooth treble with good extension. Technicalities are basically what you’d expect from recent dual CS43131 stuff—wide stage with good layering, solid imaging, and good detail for the price. My main complaint is Bluetooth: it supports LDAC, but it doesn’t do Bluetooth dongle mode (it behaves like a phone—only connects to headphones/speakers), which feels like a wasted potential. Still, I can recommend it if you want a unique, well-built DAP that also does its job properly.
