About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing the Luminkey Magger68, a hall effect gaming keyboard that’s trying to bring “premium” vibes to a pretty reasonable price. It comes in two versions: the Performance model around €140 and the Pro model around €170. I focus on the Pro because the case has refined contours, a beautiful machined weight on the back, and—most importantly for me—my favorite switches in this board: the Gateron Jade Pros. I’ve been a fan of the J Pros for a while, and they’re honestly one of the best reasons to pick the Pro in my opinion. I go over the unboxing, build quality, and sound/feel. The anodized finish (kinda old-school Apple inspired) and the 1.2 kg weight make it feel super solid, but the bottom of the case can sound a bit hollow, which creates some inconsistency between rows. The stock PBT keycaps are thick, but I’m not in love with the font/graphics, and I noticed some slightly crooked legends. Performance-wise you’re getting 8,000 Hz polling with a 4,000 Hz scan rate—still very responsive for competitive gaming—but the big story is software: it was rough at first. After the latest updates, my main issues (rapid trigger, actuation, key mapping, profiles, even 0.1 mm/advanced features) were basically fixed, making the Magger68 a much easier recommendation.
