About This Video

A little while back I spent the day in San Francisco with my friends, and I brought my Fujifilm X100V along to shoot straight-out-of-camera JPEGs using a film recipe called Last Summer Roll by Emanuele De Luca. In this video I’m sharing the photos from that day—starting around the street fair, then heading to Alamo Square to see the Painted Ladies, and finally walking over to the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park to end the day on the lawn and enjoy the weather. Last Summer Roll is built on a Classic Negative base with Auto White Balance and a very warm shift. Personally, I think that warm shift looks really nice on a bright, sunny day, and I’ve always loved the way reds render with Classic Negative—my favorite shot from the whole set is a red car for exactly that reason. I also used a 10% diffusion filter on the X100V, which helped keep things feeling soft and summery. If you want to try it yourself, I show the recipe settings at the end of the video, and I’m always open to more recipe suggestions in the comments.
