About This Video

In this video I unbox and test the Sandmarc iPhone Filmmaking Kit on my iPhone 16 Pro, and I share what each piece actually does in a real shooting setup. The kit includes three main parts: the Hybrid Mount, the Motion Filter (a clip-on 3–6 stop variable ND), and the Film Rig. I walk through each item, what’s in the box, how it mounts, and how it feels in-hand—because with iPhone video, the right accessories really can take your footage to the next level. The Hybrid Mount is super flexible: it can clamp onto an SSD or your phone, and it can also hold MagSafe accessories with the circular magnet. The Motion Filter is one of my favorites in the kit—sturdy aluminum, foam-lined clip so nothing gets scratched, and hard stops so it doesn’t rotate too far and create that ugly “X” effect. I also show the Film Rig fully built out with mounting points and cold shoes, then share test footage I shot using the Blackmagic Camera App in Apple Log and graded in Resolve. If I’m being honest, I usually shoot H.265 instead of ProRes RAW because the files are just too big, so I’ll most likely stick to using the rig + VND for my everyday setup.
