In this video, I’m sharing photos I took in San Francisco on my Fujifilm X100V using Reggie Ballesteros’ Portra recipe (it’s featured on Fuji X Weekly, and I have the link down below). I’ve been following Reggie for a while—he’s a wedding photographer based in San Francisco—and I was really excited to try his take on a Portra-style look in real-world, everyday shooting. Everything you see here was shot with a Black Pro-Mist filter in 1/4 strength on my lens, which adds a subtle softness and glow that I personally love for street and travel moments. I took this recipe out for a picnic with friends, a visit to the new park in the Presidio, and later the Ferry Building for sunset and dinner. The next weekend, I brought it along to a Mid-Autumn Festival event in Union Square with my parents, walking around the booths and capturing the celebration. This is my favorite Portra recipe because the Auto White Balance and Auto Dynamic Range make it super versatile—honestly, it’s the perfect everyday recipe. I’m really happy with how natural everything looks, and I’ll definitely be using this as my main recipe from now on.
