About This Video

In this video I’m sharing photos I shot on my Fujifilm X100V using the Kodachrome 64 film simulation recipe from Fuji X Weekly. My shots are kind of all over the place (sorry in advance), but I walk you through them with context: I took the camera on a walk around a lake to see how the recipe handles outdoor scenes and natural light, then I stopped by a store to grab a couple indoor frames so you can get a feel for what it looks like inside too. I also included a quick video clip from the intro that I shot on the X100V in F-Log and graded with CinePrint 16 in DaVinci Resolve. This is one of the few times I’ve really used the video mode on this camera, and I’ve gotta say I’m pretty impressed—it looks pretty good. Overall, I think Kodachrome 64 works really well on a bright sunny day, and compared to other Classic Chrome-based recipes like Portra 400/800, it has more contrast, which I really like. Let me know what you think of the recipe and what you want me to try next.
