I photographed San Francisco Chinatown's Autumn Moon Festival with my Fujifilm X-T5 + Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4 lens using a recipe made by @hunterhart1 ! About This Video

A few weeks ago, Aaron and I went into San Francisco to check out Chinatown’s Autumn Moon Festival, and I brought my Fujifilm X-T5 with the XF 35mm f/1.4 (plus a Glimmer Glass filter). Every photo you see in this video is a straight-out-of-camera JPEG, and I’m using a film recipe recommended to me by photographer and fellow YouTuber Hunter Hart (I share the recipe at the end so you can try it too). The recipe is based on Classic Negative with a warm-leaning white balance shift, and in this environment it worked out so well—especially with all the red everywhere during the festival. I photographed lion dancers on stage, vendor areas, and little moments that caught my eye (like a mom and her baby playing on a drum—too cute not to capture). The crowd was way bigger than I expected, so I had to work from the side at times, and I definitely had moments where I regretted not bringing a wider lens because I just couldn’t back up. I also talk about something that’s been bugging me after a few months with the 35mm f/1.4: it misses focus sometimes, and that’s extra frustrating in fast-paced street shooting—so I’m genuinely torn about selling it and switching to the newer f/2 version.
