In today’s video I’m doing my cozy little monthly tradition: letting my TBR prompt jar choose my March reads from my TBR cart. Before I start pulling prompts, I chat through the March new releases that are on my radar—like In Own League (a Windy City spin-off with banter and tension), No Matter What by Cara Bastone (a married-couple romance with a traumatic turning point), The Bookstore Diaries (inherited bookstore + small-town diary scandals), and Abby Jimenez’s The Night We Met, which looks like it’s going to get messy in the best way. Then I walk you through what I’m keeping in mind while building my TBR: my yearly TBR progress, my series tracker (I’m in the middle of eight series and I’m trying not to start new ones), plus what’s currently on my Kindle and audiobook TBRs. My first pick isn’t from the jar—it's chosen by you guys via my Instagram TBR card—and March’s winner was Rewind It Back by Liz Tomforde, which means I’ll finally finish the Windy City series. After that, the prompts guide the rest: a free pick (hello, more Emma & Lion), “set in a place you’ve traveled,” “top row,” “matches my nails” (purple!), and “flowers on the cover” (very spring). By the end, I’ve got six books, a wide mix of genres, and two series-finishers—aka my favorite kind of TBR energy.
