About This Video

HAPPY BOOKMAS DAY 10!!! Today I’m sharing my favorite books of 2025—aka my top 10… but I’m going to be so for real, it turned into 11 plus a few honorable mentions because I read so many good books this year and it was genuinely hard to weed down. I start with quick shoutouts to books I still loved (including my favorite memoir I’ve ever read, a not-too-scary mystery thriller that even a scaredy-cat like me can handle, the cutest anxiety-friendly graphic novel, and the Frederick Backman book I’m 95% sure would’ve made the list if I finished it in time). Then I count down my ranked favorites, from warm-hug cozy reads like The Wishing Game and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, to dark academia (If We Were Villains), YA fantasy perfection (The Prison Healer series—especially book two), and the slow-burn, absolutely wreck-me-in-the-best-way kind of stories that snuck up on me (Addie LaRue, Remarkably Bright Creatures). My top picks are the ones that felt the most human—found family, real grief, real connection, and endings that had me tearing up just talking about them. And yes, Kristen Hannah fully took over my year—Firefly Lane and The Great Alone were the books that made me realize I need to read everything she’s ever written.
