About This Video

Finally, I’m sharing the full tour of our Japandi, Japanese-inspired apartment in Copenhagen — and yes, I know it’s been highly requested (and very delayed). We’ve had the keys for more than half a year, and the reality is that renovating and slowly turning a place into a home takes time. We’re super picky with furniture, so this video is basically a walkthrough of what we’ve chosen so far, what we prioritized, and the little details that make it feel like “us” — minimal, calm, and not too noisy. I start in the entrance (mirror, jacket/shoe setup that actually works for us), then move into my favorite space: the living room. I share the desk everyone asks about, our dining area setup, the posters and lamps, and a few Japan-inspired touches (plus, yes, a couple of Smiskies hiding around). Then I take you into the kitchen — the room I’ve filmed the most — because we designed it ourselves with IKEA. It was fun (like playing Sims), but also expensive and exhausting, and definitely not a “two-week project.” I also show our tiny-but-very-normal-for-Copenhagen bathroom, and end in the bedroom with our low Japanese bed frame, matcha-green bedding, and the cozy lighting that makes evenings feel extra soft.
