About This Video

This week’s BrickLink Store Diary is a little milestone for me: Christmas just happened, and it also marks about three months since I opened my BrickLink store. Sales were slower, but I still ended up with two orders late in the week (and a handful of questions in the comments, which is honestly encouraging). One order was local here in Utah—so local that I dropped it off myself on the way to the dentist—and the buyer surprised me with a couple of Oswald figs. The other order was a repeat customer from California, and California officially became my first “10+ orders” state on the map. On the store side, I’m sitting at 87,689 items and 3,209 lots, and I’m still chasing that 100,000 parts goal… which gets harder when people keep buying (a problem I’m okay with). I also talk through efficiency and why huge lot-count orders can be a grind when they’re mostly low-cost parts. I’m parting out more sets (including the Van Gogh Sunflowers deal) and I share what I think will actually sell—like those 16x6 plates—versus the random stuff I’m never sure about. I also answer the big questions: sets vs parts, long-term goals, what makes my store different (spoiler: not much besides these videos), and how I’m trying to keep this from taking over my love of LEGO City building. It’s still a side hobby/side gig for now, and yes… it’s mostly hope, prayer, and winging it.
